Stage 1 ECU tuning consists of a software upgrade to your ECU that optimizes performance and makes the best, yet completely safe, use of the stock hardware. Gains differ per vehicle, but our extensive research and development, as well as decades of experience and constant education and familiarization with the latest developments in the car industry are guarantees of the best performance gains that could be achieved safely.
There is no guessing with SVP-Engineering. We base our ECU tuning files on readouts of the original software, comprehensive data log information and extensive testing.
With our Stage 1 tunes you can expect more power, an even spread of the torque curve and a better, more immediate throttle response.
Just like the Stage 1 above, we use our extensive knowledge and experience, as well as top notch equipment and thorough information about each vehicle to develop our Stage 2 ECU tuning files.
The difference is that Stage 2 includes intake and/or exhaust parts that add more potential to the stock setup by improving the gas flow to and from the engine. This lets us adjust the software further to make use of the additional potential.
We also adjust the software in a way that accommodates the hardware changes by making them an integral part of the system thus removing any potential error codes that would appear otherwise.
Stage 3 ECU tuning expands on the Stage 2 by improving the ability of the forced induction system in your car. This usually means installing a different turbocharger or supercharger and even both of those in some cases.
These upgrades require more custom work and they greatly depend on the parts you choose to upgrade. A larger turbo, for example, may require larger intakes, strengthening of the engine internals and gearbox, more hardcore hoses as well as upgrades to the brakes and suspension.
The number of possibilities grows exponentially and our knowledge, experience and guidance through technical support gives our customers the confidence that is greatly appreciated in these kinds of projects.
We know what parts need upgrades to endure the extra stress, we can guide you through the process and our Stage 3 tuning files connect all the dots into a cohesive system that works in harmony.
Just let us know what you need and let our engineering and development experts guide you through the process to the solution that suits your unique needs.
Somewhat similar to the anti-lag feature described below, pop and bang tuning gives you those amazing crackles from the exhaust and even flames. While hardware changes (most notably the catalysts) may be necessary for more extreme pop and bang tunes, we also offer more controlled tunes that will give you the taste of the sound without breaking the bank..
We offer various kinds of tuning for all the different kinds of transmissions. Do you want to make shifts faster or smoother; do you want to change the clamping pressure on your DSG; do you want to readjust torque limits and shift points; do you want to change the way torque converter locking occurs; do you want to change the RPM limits or make the manual mode truly manual. Contact us and let us know what you need.
Disabling the diesel or gasoline particulate filters or the exhaust gas recirculation valve. With our tunes, removing these features becomes simple and trouble-free, without any error codes on your dashboard. It will be as if they were never there.
We can turn off the swirl flaps feature in the ECU and remove all the error codes that a physical removal of the swirl flaps may result in.
We can remove the electronic speed limiter from your ECU software and let you unleash the full performance potential of your car at its top end.
Removal of the catalyst from your exhaust and dealing with the resulting error codes.
DTC or Diagnostic Trouble Codes are error codes that result in dashboard light illuminating and in many cases limits in performance. Aside from the standard malfunctions, they can also result from upgrades and changes to hardware parts as well as overly restrictive limits within the ECU.
We can remove these DTC in a safe way, keeping the ones that show you if your vehicle has an actual issue, but removing the aspects that make them react to the desired hardware or software changes.
Of course, safety is paramount, so we will only go to the limits deemed safe by manufacturers.
Disabling the AdBlue system and removing any related DTC.
Anti-lag refers to removing lag from the response times inherent to most turbocharged vehicles. Aside from reducing response times, anti-lag also gives those wonderful pops and bangs from the exhaust and in some cases even flames.
In very short, this is done by letting some of the fuel and gas into the exhaust manifold by leaving the throttle valve a bit open and retarding ignition timing at those particular times. Having in mind that this is the hot side of the engine, the heat causes the mixture to spontaneously combust, increasing the pressure in the exhaust manifold which keeps the turbo spoiling even when you lift your foot off the throttle.
The results are near instant throttle response due to that turbo being all spooled and pops and bangs from the exhaust.
Of course, this is not always desirable so our tunes are carefully designed to offer this feature in high-performance conditions or according to your needs and desires.
Hard-cut limiter (diesel and gasoline vehicles)
Hard-cut limiters are designed to cut off fuel delivery or spark at a certain RPM. This way they prevent the engine from over-revving. Many ECU softwares are designed to gradually reduce power as the engine reaches its RPM limit. This also means they reduce power in those sections of the RPM range. A hard-cut limiter lets them use all the torque available before the cut off without any loss of power.
We can (re)program launch control for vehicles with both manual or automatic transmission. While many performance vehicles have it as a standard feature, its parameters may not be to the liking of your customers. We can adjust each of the aspects that influence the efficiency of the launch such as torque limits, boost build-up levels and RPM point.
On cars with manual gearboxes we can design this feature to give you the pre-defined parameters when you press the throttle and clutch at the same time. When the boost has built up and you are ready to shoot off, simply lift your foot off the clutch and you’ll be flying off the mark.
No-lift-shift (manual gearboxes)
This tune allows you to shift gears without lifting your foot off the throttle pedal thus maximizing your boost and reducing shift times even on manual gearboxes.
We can turn off the functions related to this sensor and remove any error codes that may result from this operation.
Do you not like the intrusive nature of the stock start-stop system and do you absolutely hate that it cannot be permanently turned off on some cars? We’ve got you covered.
Tuning files aimed at improving the fuel economy, ideal for large fleets where an improvement in fuel economy results in significant savings. However, we’ve also had many requests for these on private vehicles, especially the ones used for travelling great distances.
Valved exhausts are very common nowadays, giving the perfect mix of subdued sound in everyday driving and wild roars in performance conditions. If the stock calibration is not to your taste, we can adjust it to make the flap open and close as you wish.
